Salona Village is a large community of over 240 Single Family Homes directly adjacent to Downtown McLean. This community features larger lots and surrounds a section of the lush Pimmit Run Park. This neighborhood enjoys benefits such as proximity to Downtown McLean, ease of access to the GW Parkway into DC, and all the advantages of being inside the Beltway.
A common reason people live in this area, aside from it’s proximity but distinction from DC, is its phenomenal schools. The schools for this neighborhood are some of the best in Virginia and the Nation. Residents attend the McLean School Pyramid which includes either Franklin Sherman or Kent Gardens Elementary Schools, Longfellow Middle, and McLean High School.
The two major thru-roads to Downtown McLean are Old Dominion Dr and Chain Bridge Rd, and this neighborhood sits right off Chain Bridge, less than a half mile away from Old Dominion. There are plenty of great things to do here, including coming to see me at our office at 6820 Elm Street! Keep an eye out for our monthly Community Charity Champions event at Pulcinella Italian Host also in downtown McLean. If you’re looking for a quick lunch, I enjoy stopping by Sweet Leaf Café for their excellent make your own style salads. For a more formal occasion, I recommend Capri Ristorante Italiano or J. Gilberts. Assaggi Osteria which is located a short walk across Old Dominion just opened a Neapolitan pizzeria as well as serves other Italian Classics. If you want to cook at home, you can pick up groceries at Balducci’s, Giant Food, and stop by The Organic Butcher for a steak.
Another great feature of this neighborhood is that it’s an attractive neighborhood for builders. This neighborhood features many of McLean’s nicest luxury new builds. Since the year 2000, 76 new homes have been built in this community with the some of the originals dating back to the 40s! I highly recommend strolling through this neighborhood.
The HBC Group has Active on the Market, 1319 Calder Rd - an estately 5 bedroom, 5.2 bath home on over a half acre with a backyard you have to see to believe! In 2018, 10 homes sold in this neighborhood from a low low of $900,000 for a tear-down to $3.1M for a stunning Brush Arbor new build! This neighborhood is booming.
