Where We Live: Lewinsville Heights

It is a hot and humid summers day in the McLean area the soft melody of the ice-cream man starts to play. Your children drop whatever they are doing at the moment, and immediately sprint to the street to catch that ice cream truck. In the back of your mind, you are a bit hesitant watching your children run as fast as they can towards the street. But then rest assured, because you know that you live in the security of a cul-de-sac. Where the streets are not nearly as busy as any other street on a main road, or intersection. This is just one, of the many benefits of buying a home on a quiet side street or cul-de-sac.

Another benefit of the Lewinsville Heights area, is the proximity to the surrounding public schools. For example, Kent Gardens Elementary is not even a mile away. With such close access, it is convenient to use their amenities. Such as their playgrounds in the warmer months of the year, and in the colder months when there is snow, the amazing sledding hill in the back. As soon as there is snow on the ground in Virginia, you can bet that there will be people sledding on that hill, it is that good! Also, extremely close is McLean High school, home of the Highlanders. With many outdoor tennis courts, and a turf field where the outdoor lights will stay on until 10pm in the summer time, Mclean High school is great for outdoor activities.

The Northern Virginia area as a whole is one of the best places to live, but within that big area, Mclean has to be the crown jewel. Due to its proximity to DC, nationally ranked schooling systems, and overall friendliness. The quality of live in this city is truly spectacular, and there are still many opportunities to live here, as the housing market is extremely hot these days for buyers and sellers.

In 2018, 6 homes sold in this neighborhood. 2 of those homes were original homes, built in the 50s. Those sold for around $800,000. The other 4 homes were ALL new builds. This neighborhood is HOT for builders! The HBC Group has Under Contract 1720 Linwood Pl!
