Property Acquisition Allows Therapeutic Riding Center to Better Serve Community Great Falls, VA:  Lift Me Up! Inc. a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization based in Great Falls, VA is pleased to announce its purchase of a three-acre parcel at 9700 Georgetown Pike. This addition doubles the organization’s existing acreage and creates a permanent home for its program. Lift Me Up! has provided therapeutic riding services to the area for more than three decades.

“This purchase secures a permanent location where we can continue providing exceptional therapeutic riding services,” says Georgia Corey, the program’s director and advanced riding instructor.  “Our location has been great for our riders and volunteers for the past 36 years and now we have more room to expand our services.”

Community support is at the heart of the program’s success. More than 300 volunteers comprised of area teens and adults assist the student riders and the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, NARHA certified riding instructors. Lift Me Up! serves over 100 riders with special needs in ages ranging from age three to adult. B.I.T.S, which stands for Back in the Saddle, is the latest program offered by Lift Me Up! and was developed to assist wounded warrior riders.

“Purchasing this property is a dream come true for Lift Me Up! It would not have been possible without the generous financial support of our donors, the dedication of our staff, our board and our amazing volunteers and families,” said Jennifer Lucier, President of Lift Me Up! “In particular, I would like to recognize three of our board members, Karen Briscoe of Keller Williams Realty, William Carbaugh and Farhad Saba for their tireless efforts. Additionally, we’re most grateful to Mr. Doug Church, Vice Chairman and Mr. Hermann Wendorff, Vice President of Virginia Heritage Bank for their continued support.”

“We are working towards becoming one of the premier therapeutic riding centers in the country,” said Corey. “Our year-round program already is a NARHA Premier Accredited Center. This expansion helps us with our goal.”
