Where We Live: Timberlake Estates - Great Falls

Timberlake Estates is a cluster of ~110 homes on the outskirts of Great Falls, nestled between Georgetown Pike and Route 7. Residents often choose to live here due to its private living near to DC. It enjoys proximity to beautiful Great Falls park as well as Tysons Corner Mall and Galleria. Commuters will appreciate the easy access to 495 as well as access to two major airports – Reagan National to the east, and Dulles International to the south-west. Residents attend Forestville Elementary, Cooper Middle, and highly acclaimed Langley High School. Timberlake Estates is separated into North and South. The North is north of Georgetown Pike and the South has 2 sections – one which is accessed off of Georgetown Pike and the other enters off of Utterback Store Road.

The neighborhood consists primarily of Colonial-style single family homes. Many of the homes were built in the late 80s and early 90s but Timberlake Estates also attracts beautiful new builds from some of the DMV’s premier builders. Keep an eye out for new unique and architecturally impressive homes!

Timberlake Estates residents are very involved with their homes through the Hawthorne Homeowner’s Association at Great Falls. This community has a neighborly feel, with the inhabitants being active in their community. Expect to make friends quickly. One thing to know about Timberlake Estates, in case you haven’t figured it out yet is that it there the North is north of Georgetown Pike and the South has 2 sections – one where Landy Lane is which accesses off of Georgetown Pike and the other enters off of Utterback Store Road.

Residents also enjoy proximity to both Reston Town Center and Great Falls Village Centre. Reston is home to many great boutique shops like Scout & Molly’s as well as chains such as Anthropologie. Restaurant options include fine dining establishments like McCormick & Schmicks and every day options like Ted’s Bulletin. Also, during the Winter months, Reston Town Center hosts an Ice Rink for recreational outdoor fun. In Great Falls Village Centre you’ll find some of the best Ice Cream in the area at Great Falls Creamery.

Great Falls Nike Park is nearby as it is located adjacent to Forestville Elementary School. The Fairfax County Park Board has approved plans to design, permit, and install synthetic turf, athletic field lighting and related work at the park. In addition to the field work, there will also be bleachers with bench pads installed, goal posts, an accessible asphalt trail, and field lighting.
