Where We Live: McLean Mews

McLean Mews is a small townhome community of just 47 homes in McLean. This cluster of homes is set right outside downtown McLean with access to all of the amenities of the city, including its great Restaurants, Shops, and Parks. This neighborhood has a WalkScore of 84! It also enjoys an easy drive to Downtown DC as well as Arlington and Tysons through its proximity to major roadways. The neighborhood is managed and cared for by the Homeowners and their Association.

One of the key features of this community is it’s almost instant proximity to Downtown McLean. The city of McLean features many great restaurants, including Pulcinella Italian Host where we host our regular Community Charity Champions fundraisers for local children’s programs, non-profits, organizations and more. If you’re looking for a quick lunch, I enjoy stopping by Sweetgreen and Sweet Leaf Café both for their excellent Salads and Grain Bowls. For a more formal occasion, I recommend Capri Ristorante Italiano or J. Gilberts. If you want to cook at home, you can pick up groceries at Giant Food, Balducci’s, and stop by The Organic Butcher for a steak.

If you’re looking to shop, Downtown McLean has no shortage of great shops, some old and some new. The Preppy Pink Pony is one of my favorite shops, with many kinds of niche items for the home and for events. My husband, Andy buys his clothes at the Jos. A Banks and shoes at Richey and Co. We also have one of the best Home Improvement stores around, McLean Hardware. We regularly find ourselves at McLean Hardware for our home and for our client’s homes as well. You can even shop for a house, by visiting our office that is also in Downtown McLean at 6820 Elm Street!

The McLean Mews Community has the benefit of being nearby three great parks. McLean Central Park, Lewinsville Park, and McLean High School Community Park. There is additionally the abutting Franklin Sherman School, which welcomes children to use its play areas after school hours. There are also plenty of events held by the HOA. There is an annual meeting and dinner, as well as seasonal events like ice cream socials, cookouts, and more. All this information and more can be found at https://www.mcleanmews.com/.

In addition to being well situated to stay local, McLean Mews has the best of both worlds in that it is also very drive-able. You can hop on Dolley Madison and be in Tysons in minutes, or take Old Dominion down into Arlington. If you’re looking to see the city, you’re a short drive to the scenic George Washington Memorial Parkway and if you’re looking to leave town you can be on the Beltway in no time at all.

Just two homes in this small community sold in 2016, for $829,000 and $885,000. Inventory and turnover are both quite low. If you’re interested in potentially purchasing in this community or you have a home to sell, give us a call at 703-734-0192 or at Homes@HBCGroupKW.com. We’d love to help you find your next home!
