Where We Live: Woodside Estates

Woodside Estates is a community of around 200 homes in McLean 22102. Woodside Estates features many large homes of varying styles on spacious lots. The origin of the neighborhood is from the 1950s, but with the amazing location, Woodside Estates is a target for frequent new builds. The neighborhood is heavily wooded throughout giving it a secluded private feel while only being minutes from Tysons Corner malls. The neighborhood features the private Woodside Lake, a frequent destination of residents.

When you enter this neighborhood, right off the beltway and a stone’s throw from Tyson Corner and Galleria malls, you don’t feel like you were in hectic Northern Virginia moments prior. A local resident, whose family has been loving Woodside Estates for 16 years now, appreciates the “Quiet ‘no outlet’ streets with friendly families” and very minimal traffic through the neighborhoods. This has led to many of these quiet streets being common walking and running routes.

The defining feature of this neighborhood is the Woodside Lake (http://woodsidelake.org/). This charming seven acre private lake is a frequent destination for swimmers, boaters, fishers, joggers, families, leisure, community events, and in 2012, a great group of Eagle Scouts (http://woodsidelake.org/eaglescout_project_2012_0434/). The Woodside Lake association regularly schedules events for all members. While the lake is the defining feature of this neighborhood, residents say a real hidden gem of this community are the abundance of mature trees. If you’re looking to swim year-round, the community also has access to joining the private Hamlet and Langley swimming clubs.

Another great part of this neighborhood is its proximity within Northern Virginia. It’s “so convenient to McLean, Tysons, Rt267 toll road and beltway”. You’re just a stone’s throw from Tyson Corner mall, the ninth largest mall in the United States. It’s also nearby the charming city of Vienna as well as Downtown McLean, where you can visit me at my office! It’s also right off 495, which will take you anywhere you need to go in the DC Metro Area.

Lastly, in addition to all this, the students has access to the wonderful schools associated with Northern Virginia. The schools are Springhill Elementary, Cooper Middle, and Langley High School. Langley is one of the best schools in Northern Virginia which also makes it amongst the best schools in the nation. There is a clear correlation between school quality and home value which I have written a blog about here: https://www.hbcgroupkw.com/2017/08/30/good-schools-can-equate-to-higher-residential-real-estate-market-value-2/

The HBC Group at KW represents Solitaire Master Builder on a custom home to be built at 8627 Dixie Place priced at $4,350,000. Please click here for listing details:  http://mrislistings.mris.com/DE.asp?ID=76507544813
