Waverly Hills is an area within Arlington, VA consisting of over 400 single family homes, many of which were built in the 30s and 40s. The key features of this neighborhood are the recently renovated Woodstock Park, the nearby Lee Heights shops, and it’s amazing location. You’re minutes from Ballston-MU Station and many in this neighborhood choose not to use a car as their primary transformation.
Woodstock Park sits in the middle of Waverly Hills and was renovated in 2015. The park has a large, modern playground and a drop-in basketball court. Insider tip - there is also a great hill for sledding in the winter months at this park! With this park’s quality and location, you’ll find it’s very often filled with your neighbors. Another underappreciated aspect of this park, and this neighborhood is its shade. This neighborhood has plenty of tree cover and grass, cooling the neighborhood down and giving it a friendly vibe! Lee Heights Shops are your nearest neighborhood shops, sitting at the northern tip of Waverly Hills. If you haven’t been, Arrowine and Cheese is an amazing wine, cheese, and specialty provisions store that attracts people from outside of the neighborhood as well. There’s also Crisp’n’Juicy for Peruvian Chicken, Pastries by Randolph, Old Dominion Pizza Company (they do deliver!), and of course, there’s a Starbucks.
Waverly Hills is amazingly situated in Arlington. You’re nearby the Ballston-MU Metro Station. Some owners choose to commute carless, opting to either bicycle or metro. If you do choose to travel by car, the options are limitless. You’re surrounded on all sides by major thoroughfares, Old Dominion Drive (Lee Highway) to the north, N Glebe Rd to the west, and Interstate 66 to the south. These roads can take you into DC or out to the Beltway which can then take you quickly to any destination in the DMV.
