Where We Live: Cedar Cluster Townhomes

The Cedar Cluster Townhomes are a group of 6 townhomes tucked into their own private little enclave in the heart of Downtown McLean. These luxury townhomes with elevators, built in 1985, have 4 beds and 4.5 baths, all with around 3000 sqft. Surprisingly private even though located adjacent to Chain Bridge Rd, almost invisible from the street if you don’t know what you’re looking for. The community has two gazebos for outdoor entertaining, catching up with neighbors or relaxing with a book and beverage.  One of the top benefits is proximity to McLean, quick access to major thoroughfares, and amazing schools!

There are two public buses steps away from the front door: 721 which loops between downtown McLean and Tyson’s Corner with a stop at McLean Station on Silver Line.  And, the 24T which runs a loop between the CIA and East Falls Church Metro for the Silver and Orange lines.  A few blocks away is the 23T that connects Tyson’s Corner through Ballston, Crystal City, and down to Annandale.

This neighborhood feeds into the McLean School Pyramid which includes either Franklin Sherman or Kent Gardens Elementary Schools, Longfellow Middle, and McLean High School. GreatSchools gives these schools great ratings, and they’re often considered amongst the best schools in one of the best school districts in the entire country. One of the key features of this community is its instant proximity to Downtown McLean. According to WalkScore.com, the location offers a “very walkable” rating of 83, which is considered one that most errands can be accomplished on foot. The city of McLean features many great restaurants and shops, including Pulcinella Italian Host where we host our regular Community Charity Champions fundraisers for local children’s programs, non-profits, organizations and more. Stop by on the second Tuesday of the month - We’ll see you there!

If you’re looking to shop, Downtown McLean has no shortage of great shops, some old and some new. The Preppy Pink Pony is one of my favorite shops, with many kinds of niche items for the home and for events. My husband, Andy buys his clothes at the Jos. A Banks and shoes at Richey and Co. We also have one of the best Home Improvement stores around, McLean Hardware. We regularly find ourselves at McLean Hardware for our home and for our client’s homes as well. You can even shop for a house, by visiting our office that is also in Downtown McLean at 6820 Elm Street!

Living in McLean, the rest of the DMV is delightfully accessible by car. You have painless access into DC with the GW Parkway and you only need to make 1 turn to be on the Beltway. What is close to my heart is how easy it is to get to Wolftrap, one of my favorite concert venues ever. Just take Chain Bridge to Rt 7 and it’s on your left. We highly recommend going to see a show, we saw the Steve Miller Band earlier this summer! Find their calendar of events here: https://www.wolftrap.org/calendar.aspx
