Where We Live: Heather Knoll Cluster, Reston

The Heather Knoll Cluster of North Reston is a small community of 52 townhomes on a charming street named Woodbrook Ct. Construction for these homes was completed in ‘96. The neighborhood is well situated in the North Point area of Reston. With its proximity to Reston Town Center, there are plenty of ways to spend the evenings. There are also countless nearby amenities including Tyson’s Corner, Wolf Trap, and DC just a short metro-ride away.

Reston Town Center is one of the main attractions of this community. It’s home to trendy shops, great restaurants, and a fair amount of office space. The Center is focused around Fountain Square, which operates as an event space for outdoor concerts in the summer and an Ice Rink in the winter. If you’re looking for a bar to end the night, I highly recommend Jackson’s, though it is VERY busy. For dinner, you can’t go wrong with the newest restaurant, North Italia. For an up-to-date account of all the local restaurants, shops, and events, check their website here: https://www.restontowncenter.com/.

There are plenty of nearby ways to spend some nice time outside. A block away, there begins miles of bike and walking paths to access North Hills Shopping Center and Lake Newport Tennis Courts and the multiple swimming pools that are part of the Reston amenities.  The Reston Farmers Market which is open every Saturday from May through November is a short walk or bike ride away in the Lake Anne Village Center.

Residents of this neighborhood also enjoy a friendly community of neighbors and an active HOA. http://heatherknoll.org/. I highly recommend reviewing this website, as it’s kept up-to-date and is one of the more helpful association websites I’ve seen, and as an agent, I’ve seen many! It contains great information like help with public transport in the area, association meeting times and records, and more.

For an in depth look into this neighborhood from 1994, check out this great article written in the Washington Post! https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/realestate/1994/05/21/setting-a-new-standard-for-town-homes/656f0718-4653-4be9-b252-f30798b04dc9/.

In 2018, just 1 home was listed and sold in this Cluster, a 3 bedroom 3.5 bath inner unit. It sold at $645,000 after spending just ONE day on the market and it went above List Price! These homes fly off the shelves.

Jenny currently has Active on the market 1225 Woodbrook Ct, a luxury end-unit Townhome. It has 3 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms and has been lovingly maintained. This is one you’ll need to see! See our virtual tour: TO BE ASSIGNED.
