Amadeus Concerts inspires a community of classical music lovers in the Washington, D.C., area through up-close performances by professional musicians, educational outreach, and mentoring for young musicians. They collaborate with artistic partners and spotlight performers of the highest caliber, including their own Amadeus Orchestra.
"We're so grateful for the opportunity to participate in HBC Group's Community Charity Champions," said Maury Brown, Amadeus Board President. "The funds we raise on July 9th will be used to bring the winners of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association Concerto Competition to play with the Amadeus Orchestra in the 2019/2020 season."
Sponsors of the event are: Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy with the HBC Group / Keller Williams Realty, Marcus Simon with EKKO Title, Kevin Dougherty of Pillar to Post, Kathy and Justin Neal of The Neal Team/SunTrust Mortgage, Jim Harris of BOWA, The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, and Moe Jebali with Pulcinella Italian Host.
About Amadeus Concerts
The Amadeus Concerts, Inc. began in 1980 as the Great Falls Music Society. The late Timothy Rowe, a noted musician and conductor and inspiring friend to many, brought together a community of music lovers in Northern Virginia. From the beginning the mission of Amadeus Concerts included delivering fine music to local communities and music education and outreach for all ages.
Amadeus Concerts, through the support of the board and a group of benefactors, appointed A. Scott Wood as the Artistic and Executive Director in 2006.
Over recent years the organization has grown its audiences and found supporters from many areas beyond Great Falls and McLean including the Dulles Corridor, Maryland and Washington DC.
The board continues to be dedicated to maintaining affordable admission and encourages attendance by families and seniors. In recent years the active side-by-side program in schools has been championed by past president, Maury Brown, whose untiring work has helped put Amadeus Concerts truly on the musical map in Northern Virginia.
About HBC Community Charity Champions
To date, Community Charity Champions has raised more than $90,000 for local non-profits and organizations. HBC Group of Keller Williams Realty launched Community Charity Champions in 2012 as a venue to fundraise for local nonprofits. As good corporate citizens, Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were searching for a means to support charities in the community. The event is held on Tuesday evenings at Pulcinella Italian Host in McLean where a portion of the diner(s) is contributed to the charity of the month. Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were honored with the Corporate Social Responsibility award in 2012 by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce for the work HBC’s Community Charity Champions has done and continues to do for nonprofits in the area.
