Join Community Charity Champions to support Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. The fundraiser takes place from 5 to 8 pm at Pulcinella Italian Host in McLean - a silent auction will be part of the event. Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center will receive an estimated 70% of the proceeds from food and drink orders, as long as the diner brings the flyer for the event. The Children’s Center is celebrating its 50th anniversary of providing an affordable, high-quality, year-round early education to children from low- and moderate income, working families. The nationally accredited preschool, located in a dedicated wing of Lemon Road Elementary School, each year guides 80 children, ages 2-5, to develop the full range of skills they need to be ready to achieve when they start kindergarten. The nonprofit, nondenominational preschool was established by members of 20 area faith groups to meet the need for affordable, full-time child care in 1968.
“This event will help us to provide an affordable, yet enriching early education program, with all the components that help young children build their fundamental skills,” explained Crystal F. Jean, Children’s Center Executive Director.
Sponsors of the event are: Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy with the HBC Group of Keller Williams Realty, Marcus Simon with EKKO Title, Kevin Dougherty of Pillar to Post, Kathy and Justin Neal of The Neal Team/US Bank, Jim Harris of BOWA, The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, and Moe Jebali with Pulcinella Italian Host.
About HBC Community Charity Champions
To date, Community Charity Champions has raised more than $80,000 for local non-profits and organizations. The HBC Group of Keller Williams Realty launched Community Charity Champions in 2012 as a venue to fundraise for local nonprofits. As good corporate citizens, Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were searching for a means to support charities in the community. The event is held on Tuesday evenings at Pulcinella Italian Host in McLean where a portion of the diner(s) is contributed to the charity of the month. Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were honored with the Corporate Social Responsibility award in 2012 by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce for the work HBC’s Community Charity Champions has done and continues to do for nonprofits in the area.
