West Lewinsville Heights is a quiet community of homes mostly built in the late 1950’s to early 1960’s located between McLean High School and the Dulles Toll Road. The housing types are common for that era, typically being split levels, ramblers, split foyers, bi-levels and some 2 level colonials.  Many have been expanded and some include carports with one or two vehicle spacing and others have added garages.  The location is sought after for new builds and many of the older homes are being torn down and replaced with larger more modern architecture. 

The neighborhood is surrounded by a number of opportunities for recreation.  Tuckahoe Recreation Club off of Great Falls Street offers an outdoor swimming pool in season and tennis courts as well as a year round fitness center and indoor pool.  https://tuckahoe.net/  The McLean Swim & Tennis Association offers summer season outdoor swimming pools and year round tennis courts.  https://mcleanswimandtennis.org/  Lewinsville Park off of Chain Bridge Road has ball fields, hosts the annual McLean Day festivities and has gardening plots for those with a green thumb.   https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/green-spring/plots

This neighborhood attends the highly rated Fairfax County school district. The assigned schools of 2021 are Kent Gardens Elementary School, Longfellow Middle School, and McLean High School.  Fun fact is that Karen Briscoe’s son Drew was in the first class of French Immersion, which began in 1994 in Kent Gardens.  She has worked with a number of teachers, PTA officers and families through the years with their real estate needs.  HBC Group through Community Charity Champions is one of the top fundraisers for the Kent Gardens PTA.

The location is ideal as it offers easy access to many major highways such as I-495 Capital Beltway, Dulles Tollroad and Dolley Madison Blvd to the north and west and I-66 to the south.  There are two metro stations within a few miles, the Tysons East stop near the Capitol One complex and West Falls Church near Falls Church City.  What is unique about this neighborhood is that it is divided by Great Falls St, which is a major north-south road in McLean. This road provides easy access to Tysons Corner for some of the area's top shopping.  

In 2021, only one property is on the market. It is currently active on the market listed for $799,900. The average sales price for this neighborhood in 2020 for the original split level structure is about $850,000. This neighborhood has a few new builds as the acreage ranges from .24 to .54, making them ideal lots for new builds.
