Karen Briscoe

Karen Briscoe began her career in real estate in “dirt” in Dallas working for Trammell Crow Company in Dallas. She attributes her experience in commercial real estate to her strong skills of market knowledge, strategy and negotiations which are known as the hard side of the business. Her heart of caring and passion for service led to her desire to work more directly with people and moved over to the soft side of real estate by becoming a residential agent over 22 years ago.

As one of the Principals of the Huckaby Briscoe Conroy Group along with Lizzy Conroy, Karen considers it a privilege to assist people with their real estate needs, be it selling and buying a home or property as well as investing in real estate.

Karen and husband Andy moved to the Northern Virginia area over 30 years ago and are active members of the community. It was at Trinity United Methodist Church in McLean that Karen met Sue Huckaby which led to her joining the team as an agent. Trinity Church is also where Karen and Lizzy met, first as Lizzy and her husband Steve being clients of Karen’s and then joining the team in 2009. They view their partnership “as made in heaven”, which sentiment came from Sue. Karen’s mission is to carry on her legacy.

A top producing residential agent in Northern Virginia for over two decades, Karen is also an Associate Broker in Virginia, a Certified Luxury Home Market Specialist, and a Senior Real Estate Specialist. She works with both Sellers and Buyers of real estate, primarily in McLean, Falls Church, Reston, Arlington, Great Falls, Vienna, Alexandria and Oakton, Virginia. An active real estate investor with eight rental properties in the metro area as well as numerous interests in commercial real estate holdings, she enjoys helping others build wealth through investing in real estate.

As a valued voice in the real estate community, Karen is a contributing author for Inman News Real estate news, REAL Trends, and locally for The Sun Gazette/INOVA newspapers.
Karen has a passion to make an impact through contribution and has been active in the community and was awarded by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce for Social Corporate Responsibility. She is an active member of New Dominion Women’s Club, longtime supporter of McLean Project for the Arts, SHARE of McLean and Cornerstones in Reston. Further Karen has served as a Board member for Lift Me Up!,a therapeutic horseback riding program for children and adults with disabilities in Great Falls.
In the DC metro area prior to pursuing residential sales she worked in commercial real estate with The Staubach Company. Before moving to Northern Virginia, Karen completed a Masters Degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Her BA is from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri – her hometown.

Karen’s husband, Andy, works with the HBC Group as well. Their son Drew is Chief Operating Officer with JCR Companies in Washington, DC and is responsible for overseeing leasing and management of the company’s retail shopping center portfolio. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and lives in Great Falls with his wife Keeley and daughter Sutton Ann. Their daughter Callie also works in commercial real estate with Linway Capital Partners and volunteers at Promised Landing, a therapeutic horseback riding program in Davidsonville, Maryland.
