Fundraiser Supporting The Children’s Science Center

Come support The Children’s Science Center on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 5 to 8pm HBC Realty Group’s (Keller Williams Realty) Community Charity Champions. Enjoy dinner at Pulcinella Italian Host in McLean and know that approximately 70% of the proceeds from food and drink will go to the Children’s Science Center, as long as the diner brings the flyer for the event. The Children’s Science Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to creating a world-class, interactive children’s museum in Northern Virginia. Their mission is to instill a love of learning science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in all children by providing unique opportunities to explore, create, and be inspired.
“The Children’s Science Center is honored to be selected as a beneficiary of HBC Realty Group’s Community Charity Champions fundraising event,” said Nene Spivy, Executive Director. “We thank HBC Realty Group for being a true community champion in helping us raise funds, friends and general awareness about our work to inspire all children to love learning in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds raised are critical to support our ongoing community programs, our new museum site, the Children’s Science Center Lab at Fair Oaks Mall, and our work to fulfill our vision for a full-scale, world-class museum to be built in Dulles, VA.”

About Children’s Science Center
The Children’s Science Center is committed to creating a world-class, interactive children’s museum in Northern Virginia. In June 2015, the Children’s Science Center opened the Children’s Science Center Lab, a 5,400 square-foot operating site at Fair Oaks Mall in Virginia. The Lab is an educational and fun space where the region’s families, school groups and educators can learn and experience science, technology, engineering and math. In addition, the Children’s Science Center is committed to opening a 50,000 square foot, full-scale Children’s Science Museum that will be built in the Kincora district in the Dulles area opening in 2019.
Today, our Museum Without Walls programs bring hands-on science activities to thousands of area children each year, allowing us to fulfill our mission even before our doors open: to instill a love of learning science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in all children by providing unique opportunities to explore, create, and be inspired. About HBC Community Charity Champions
The Huckaby Briscoe Conroy Realty Group of Keller Williams Realty launched Community Charity Champions in 2012 as a venue to fundraise for local nonprofits. As good corporate citizens, Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were searching for a means to support charities in the community. The event is held on Tuesday evenings at Pulcinella Italian Host in McLean where a portion of the diner(s) is contributed to the charity of the month. Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were honored with the Corporate Social Responsibility award in 2012 by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce for the work HBC Community Charity Champions has done and continues to do for nonprofits in the area.
