Lift Me Up! has been providing safe and effective therapeutic riding lessons to children and adults with disabilities in Great Falls for 40 years.  The money raised at this event will go to the “Good fences make good neighbors” campaign to help pay for improvements to the property that will ensure the safety of horses and riders.  Lift Me Up! is building new fences along the Georgetown Pike and replacing older fencing around the property as well.  Fencing keeps horses and people where they are supposed to be and is essential to the operation of the program.

“Pulcinella’s is a wonderful place to host an event, I am looking forward to dining there with my family and friends on March 10th, please come out and have a delicious meal and help Lift Me Up!  We are so grateful to Karen Briscoe and the entire HBC Realty Group,” remarked Laura Smith, Director of Development for Lift Me Up!

Sponsors of the event are: Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy with the HBC Realty Group of Keller Williams Realty, Betty Sparkman and Chris Lara of Reveal Remodel, Marcus Simon with EKKO Title, Kevin Dougherty of Pillar to Post, Kathy and Justin Neal of The Neal Team/SunTrust Mortgage, The McLean Chamber of Commerce, and Moe Jebali with Pulcinella Italian Host.

About Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up!  has provided thousands of therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children and adults with disabilities at its Great Falls stable for 40 years.  Just recently Lift Me Up! launched a program for injured veterans called BITS (Back in the Saddle) and now offers hippotherapy with a licensed occupational or physical therapist.  Each week over 100 riders develop new riding skills that enhance their core strength, balance, coordination and confidence.  Lift Me Up! trains volunteers age 14 and older to assist with the therapeutic riding lessons as sidewalkers and leaders.  This is a very special equestrian program that engages the best of humanity with extraordinary horses to provide a healing experience for those in our community who are most challenged.   Each year hundreds of volunteers donate thousands of hours of service to support individuals with disabilities and their families.  Maintaining a facility with 10 horses, specially trained instructors, is expensive. Lift Me Up!  is a non-profit community-based organization that relies on financial and in-kind donations from individuals and corporations.  It is a 501(c)3 corporation and participates in the United Way  #8266 Combined Federal Campaign CPF # 70459.  See www.liftmeup.org for more information or to make a tax-deductible donation.

About HBC Community Charity Championship

The Huckaby Briscoe Conroy Realty Group of Keller Williams Realty launched Community Charity Champions in 2012 as a venue to fundraise for local nonprofits.  As good corporate citizens, Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were searching for a means to support charities in the community.  The event is held on Tuesday evenings at Pulcinella Italian Host in McLean where a portion of the diner(s) is contributed to the charity of the month. Karen Briscoe and Lizzy Conroy were honored with the Corporate Social Responsibility award in 2012 by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce for the work HBC Community Charity Champions has done and continues to do for nonprofits in the area.
