Sue Bender
Sue Bender is an Associate Agent with HBC Group of Keller Williams McLean-Great Falls. After 23 military moves and an equal number of new homes, she has been in the shoes of both home buyers and sellers, and especially knows just how important finding the right house is in order to feel at home. Sue has served in a number of professional and volunteer capacities across the US and abroad, always serving with positivity and respect for those around her. Sue taps into all of her experiences to help each client and their real estate needs with professionalism and clarity.
At Arlington National Cemetery, Sue serves as an Arlington Lady, representing the Chief of Staff of the Air Force to veterans’ families who are laying their loved ones to rest. She has been awarded the Civilian Volunteer of the Year Award, and she and her husband Bill together have received Air Mobility Command’s General and Mrs. Jerome F. O’Malley Award, recognizing the commander and spouse team who exemplify the highest ideals and positive leadership of a military couple serving in a key Air Force position.
Sue has volunteered with many military-focused organizations including the American Red Cross, the United Services Organization, United States Armed Forces Europe, the German American Women’s Club, and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. She has been a featured speaker at Air Force development courses and military spouse events and forums. She also has served in board positions and adviser roles for numerous spouse organizations.
Sue graduated from Manhattan College, Summa Cum Laude, with a B.S. in Accounting and Finance. She began her work career as a Certified Public Accountant and worked in the World Trade Center in New York City before marrying her husband Bill and beginning a 34-year adventure as an Air Force spouse. They have two children. Her son, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, is an F-16 pilot assigned to Aviano Air Base, Italy. Her daughter, an attorney specializing in litigation and international law, lives in London.
